Do you have a camp host?

Our camp host is Patty, she is in RV space #1 and can help answer any questions you may have.

What are the Check-In and Check-Out times?

The check-in time is 3pm. The check-out time is 10am.

I will be arriving late, how do I check in?

It's best to arrive before dark to make it easy on yourself and others. However, arriving late is fine. If you have a reservation and arrive late, please refer to the detailed instructions sent by email for late check in. You will also find a named note on the information board as you enter the property. Please let us know your estimated arrival time via the booking form if you do anticipate getting here late.

We’d like to visit as a group; how can we arrange our stay?

You’re welcome to have the group book directly on our website or if you need help, please contact us with the desired dates and number of people, so we can confirm we’re able to accommodate your group and help you with the booking process.

When do you close for the winter?

We typically close in mid-October and re-open in late April, depending on the weather.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to alter or cancel your reservation please let us know in writing, by responding to your booking confirmation email and cc'ing stay@campalmanor.com. Date or other changes maintaining or extending the original stay duration can be made free of charge, subject to availability. If you find it necessary to cancel your reservation we will refund your deposit, less a $19 + 3% processing fee, if your written cancellation request is received at least 30 days prior to your arrival. Cancellation requests made within 30 days of your arrival date will forfeit the entire deposit. Early departures will forfeit the payment.

Do you have laundry?

Unfortunately we don’t. The Chester Laundromat is a short 12 min drive from Camp Almanor. The laundromat is located at 322 Main St, Chester, CA 96020

Are campfires permitted?

With all of the recent forest fire activity in California our insurance doesn’t allow for campfires on property. Please be fire safe and only use approved propane gas fire pits.

Do you have BBQ’s / Picnic Tables we can use while there?

Yes, on the lakeside of Cabin 12 there is a common area for all of our guests to enjoy. Here you'll find two gas grills available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. If you happen to find one of the grills without gas, please reach out to our camp host and they will swap propane tanks for you. There are a few picnic tables nearby so you can enjoy outdoor dining while taking in the view of the lake.

Do you allow pets? Is there a charge for them?

We are a Pet Friendly resort, your pet is welcome at Big Springs Resort, but must be leashed at all times and cleaned up after. Pet fee is $10/day per pet with a max of 2 pets allowed per cabin. Our insurance will not allow aggressive breeds including, Pit Bull, Doberman, Rottweiler, German Sheppard. Excessive shedding will result in a $20 cleaning fee.

Do you have Wi-Fi internet / Cable TV / Cell coverage?

We encourage our guests to “unplug” and immerse in the slower paced life but do have WIFI broadband internet. Speeds vary depending on usage. There’s NO Cable TV. We have good cellular coverage at camp.

Is smoking allowed?

We try hard to make your stay pleasant and odor free. All our cabins are non-smoking.

Do you have Lake access?

At Camp Almanor we are across the street from Lake Almanor and do not have direct lake access. You can get access to the lake via the Marina, the Westshore Beach or the free boat access at the Canyon Dam Boat Ramp.

Can I store my trailer / boat / extra vehicle on site during my stay?

We have limited parking onsite. We ask guests to limit vehicles to 1 per cabin. Please park in the designated parking spaces on the West side of the driveway. Please do not park in front of your cabin or block the driveway.
